Why Download Stories Anonymously?
When you view someone's Instagram Story on the app, your username is added to their "Seen" list. Sometimes you want to view or download a public creator's story for inspiration or mood boards, but prefer to keep your search private. This guide covers how to save active stories anonymously.
Using the Story Downloader Tool
To view and save stories without logging in, follow these instructions:
- Copy the URL link of the story or highlight cluster, or simply copy the username of the public profile (e.g.
@username). - Paste it into the Story Downloader tab on our website.
- Our backend makes a proxy request to fetch the active stories (those uploaded in the last 24 hours).
- You will see a list of images and videos. Click download on the items you want to keep.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I download private stories? No, you can only retrieve stories from public accounts to respect the user's privacy settings. If an account is set to private, the API will refuse connections.
